Comparison
Surfer alternative
Surfer's alternative is not a cheaper score. It is a decision about whether you still need the score.
A Surfer alternative search usually means the Content Score became the work. Writers chase terms, the number goes up, and the article is still in a doc. Surfer is doing what it promises: guidelines from the live SERP, an SEO score, an AI-search score, and a SERP analyzer. Leaving it for another scorer repeats the same week.
Blogdat is an alternative when you want the article researched, written, imaged, published, and submitted. It will not show a content score. If your clients pay for that score, NeuronWriter is the closer budget alternative, and this page says so. If they pay for the site to grow, the score was never the deliverable.
What you give up, on purpose
- The term list
- You will not see a panel of nouns to insert. Coverage becomes your outline, not a quota.
- SERP Analyzer
- You will not get Surfer's correlation view of the current top results. For a fierce query, keep a research tool. Semrush or Ahrefs still do that job.
- Auto-Optimize
- Nothing will sprinkle entities into a finished draft. That pass is also how articles start to sound like the SERP average.
- The client screenshot
- If the invoice depends on a score, do not rip the tool out from under the report. Change the invoice first.
What Blogdat is for
Blogdat runs the blog for a site. It researches that business, drafts the article, makes the image, publishes on a schedule, and can ask Google to index the URL when Search Console is connected. It can translate, connect WordPress, and carry more than one brand.
It also tracks keywords, AI mentions, and link metrics for the sites you connect. Link metrics and domain rating are shown from Ahrefs when that connection is on. Blogdat does not crawl its own copy of the web's keywords or backlinks, and it does not buy ads or run a sales sequence.
Side by side
| Job | Blogdat | Surfer |
|---|---|---|
| Content score | No | Yes |
| SERP analyzer | No | Yes |
| Full article and image | Yes | Assisted, inside the editor |
| Publishing schedule | Yes | Export |
| Indexing request | Yes, with Search Console | No |
| Cheaper score | Not this product | Look at NeuronWriter, not at a publisher |
A switch that does not wreck the archive
Do not rewrite every URL to escape the score. Published pages that already rank should be edited when they are wrong or thin, not regenerated because a new tool arrived.
Use Blogdat for the next queries. Keep Surfer for one month on the queries where the SERP is weird, so you can see the result type before you brief. Then decide if you still open it.
How this page was checked
- Public product pages for Surfer and for Blogdat, read in October 2026. Plan names and prices change. Confirm them on the vendor site before you buy.
- No score in this comparison is a lab result. Where a product claims a database size or a model name, that claim is theirs.
- Blogdat does not replace a keyword index, a backlink index, an ad suite, or a sales workflow. If that is the job, this is the wrong alternative.
